SLAYER To Tour Mexico In September
July 19, 2006Los Angeles thrashers SLAYER will embark on a Mexican tour in late September, immediately following their short run of dates in South America. Although no details have yet been officially announced, these are believed to be the tentative dates for the trek:
Sep. 1, 2, 3, 6 - Brazil
Sep. 9 - Chile
Sep. 12-13 - Argentina
Sep. 15 - Colombia
Sep. 17 - Venezuela
Sep. 21 - Arena V.F.G. - Guadalajara, MEX
Sep. 23 - Monterrey Metal Fest - Monterrey, MEX
Sep. 24 - Salon 21 - Mexico City, MEX
Sep. 25 - Salon 21 - Mexico City, MEX
SLAYER's new album, "Christ Illusion", is scheduled for release on August 8, 2006 via American Recordings/Warner Bros. Records.
"Christ Illusion" is SLAYER's first new studio album since 2001, and the first recorded by the band's original line-up — Kerry King (guitar),Tom Araya (bass, vocals),Jeff Hanneman (guitars),Dave Lombardo (drums) — since 1990's "Seasons In The Abyss". "Christ Illusion" was produced by Josh Abraham and executive-produced by Rick Rubin.
Henry Rollins recently reported on his web site that SLAYER would tape an appearance on his Independent Film Channel program "The Henry Rollins Show". According to the IFC show's web site, the episode featuring SLAYER will premiere on July 29.
